The Men’s Stag meetings in Arizona was originated from the Roxbury Park (Beverly Hills) Men’s Stag group which started in 1946.  John Butler was a long time member of the Beverly Hills Men’s stag group and moved to Arizona in 1992.   With the Beverly Hills groups blessing, he started a Tuesday night Men’s Stag at Crossroads in 1994.

Many men have been home group members for life and have committed to the original principles of focusing on the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous,  Sponsorship and Service to others. bill and Bob and the first AA

This retreat is still focused on these same simple principles.  We will spend the entire weekend working through the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous.   Men who have experience with each step will share their personal experiences and the wisdom of their sponsors and grand sponsors.   People who are currently working or have worked that step will share their their individual experience with that step.

This all starts Friday night with the first step and will continue through Sunday noon with Steps 11 & 12.

Saturday morning begins early with a morning meditation meeting where the concepts and exercise of meditation are experienced.   Saturday afternoon provides an opportunity to partner with another person in recovery to work on steps 4 and 5.  There will also be a speaker meeting and a fireside meeting that is optional for all attendees.
AA mens stag retreat dining lodgeThe meals provided by the team at Chapel Rock are always top notch.  You should not go away hungry from any meal.   Special arrangements can be made for Gluten free and other specific dietary needs.

Over the many years of this retreat, THOUSANDS of men have worked through the steps, stayed sober and gone on to be presenters at future retreats.   We encourage everyone in recovery to attend at least one of these retreats sometime in sobriety.    You will likely learn something new or help someone else learn something new.   But undoubtedly, you will stay sober through it all.
